In 2014, Shanxi TV partnered with the Center for Ethnic and Folk Arts Development under China’s Ministry of Culture to create a new version of the show Songs from the Yellow River. Leveraging the center’s influence, rich talent pool, and guest resources, the program aimed to map out a constellation of Chinese folk singers, discover new talents, and build momentum for the Yellow River Song King Championship. In a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere, Songs from the Yellow River not only showcased the diverse charm of folk songs but also unearthed many lesser-known stories behind these timeless melodies.
To enhance the artistic and cultural presentation of the show, the production team selected 130 units of XMLITE’s 280W tri-function moving head light. This versatile fixture integrates moving head beam, moving head profile, and full-color wash capabilities, delivering crisp beams, vibrant colors, and accurate color temperatures—adding unique visual effects and emotional depth to each performance.
Television experts praised the fixtures’ performance:
“Clear beams, vibrant colors, accurate color temperature—perfectly suited for the stage requirements of folk music performances.”
Notably, XMLITE is the second company in China to pass the OSRAM HRI 280 temperature validation test. Proper temperature management directly affects bulb longevity, ensuring reliable operation even during high-intensity recording sessions.
The successful deployment of XMLITE lights in Songs from the Yellow River further solidifies its reputation in national-level television variety shows. With light as its medium, XMLITE contributes to the preservation and development of Chinese folk music culture.
